This is one of the most meaningful songs I've ever heard, and believe me when I say, I listen to a lot of meaningful stuff. Basically, this song is written about a man, falling in love with a woman, and about how they were the most in love two people could be.
They ended up having a child together, and that's who the father was speaking to, in the song. So, after they had their child, his wife got sick with cancer, I'm assuming, but hey He was devastated, as a normal human being would be. He was frustrated with the world, because he believed that he, nor his wife, nor his child deserved this, and honestly, no one deserves cancer.
So, he warns his son what life can bring you. He explained the story of his and his wife's love story, and their tragic end. Add your reply.
